Earlier this week, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a chilling order allowing Donald Trump’s masked federal agents to continue racially targeted immigration raids across Southern California. The order gives legal cover to detaining people based on race, language, and occupation – a dramatic escalation in Trump’s war on immigrants and communities that disagree with his politics.
These raids have included masked and armed federal agents pulling aside Latino individuals – including U.S. citizens – and demanding proof of citizenship, often without reasonable suspicion.
Fair Fight CEO Lauren Groh-Wargo responded:
“Today’s Supreme Court order green-lights racial profiling – allowing Trump’s masked agents to target people based on skin color, language, or where they work. This goes beyond stop-and-frisk. It’s stop and abduct – and the Court is on board. The same Court who ruled it unconstitutional to consider race in college admissions now says it’s fine to consider race when deciding who to detain and deport.
“If it wasn’t already clear, it is now: far-right extremists have transformed the Court from a check on government power into a rubber stamp for authoritarianism.”
This order comes amid growing pressure from White House advisor Stephen Miller for ICE to prioritize arrests based on quotas rather than evidence. In May, Miller demanded ICE target 3,000 arrests per day. At the same time, Trump’s Department of Justice rewrote long-standing policy to deny bail to many immigrants — even those who had lived in the U.S. for years and had strong legal cases to remain — forcing indefinite detention and effectively coercing self-deportation.
Trump is also escalating attacks on Democratic-led cities. After deploying troops to Los Angeles, he is now threatening to do the same in Chicago, even posting an Apocalypse Now-style meme declaring, “I love the smell of deportations in the morning.” He has rebranded the Department of Defense as the Department of War and has insinuated he can send in troops whenever he wants.
With the Court’s backing, Trump’s campaign of fear and weaponization of government power is growing more militarized, racialized, and authoritarian by the day.

The line in the sand Trump has drawn makes it clear that Trump and the Supreme Court are on the side of tyranny. What's also being made clear is that party affiliation is no longer the source of our division. What divides us is a belief in our laws and freedom, or living in a Nazi state. Like choosing between life and death, logic should be the driving force in deciding on which side of the sand we choose to stand. America has an opportunity to coalesce and return to civility in our political discourse. The political progression is leading up to one man ruling the country, and even the supportive Supreme Court will become obsolete. The chaos of a broken America will be too painful to bear.
Alito, Thomas, Roberts, Comey-Barret and Kavanaugh, all of them on-their-knees sycophantic Trumpian whores, every one of them. In a better age, they'd all be in prison for life, along with the traitor Trump, who should be spending life in the max security cell recently vacated by Robert Hansen.
